Accepted Payment Methods

We offer the following secure and convenient Blue Nile payment methods to shoppers in the United States: 

Credit cards: We accept major credit cards, including Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®, and Discover® 

• Debit cards: We accept Visa® or Mastercard® debit cards only 

• PayPal®: We accept payment through PayPal® for orders totaling $15,000 or more 

• Wire transfer: We accept secure wire transfers from most banking institutions 

• Financing: We offer financing options through Affirm and Splitit 

Credit Card Payments

We accept most major credit cards, including Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®, and Discover®. You can use credit cards to make online purchases. You can also make Blue Nile card purchases in person in one of our showrooms using secure tap-to-pay. 

We no longer offer a Blue Nile credit card. Customers with an existing account will not see any changes, but will also not be able to make any new purchases. However, we do have other financing options available at checkout. 

Additionally, your bank may have a daily charge limit on your debit card. If this is the case, we will not be able to process your order. You can contact your bank to request a one-time waiver of this limit. 

Blue Nile U.S. payment methods include only Visa® Debit and Mastercard® Debit cards. No other debit cards are accepted. 

If your order is eligible for PayPal®, the PayPal® button will appear below the “checkout” button in your shopping basket. 

Bank Wire Transfers

You can use a bank wire transfer to pay for a Blue Nile purchase. A wire transfer, or “credit transfer,” electronically sends your payment directly from your banking institution to Blue Nile. Wire transfers of $1,000 or more are eligible for an additional 1.5 percent discount. 

After you place your order and select bank wire as your payment option, we’ll email you with account information to ensure your bank properly transfers the funds, which may take up to two days to process. Once we receive your financial institution's fund transfer, your order will be processed, and you will receive your order confirmation email. 

Note that wire transfers may incur a fee, depending on your financial institution's policy.

Financing Options

Blue Nile financing is available through Affirm and Splitit. 

Affirm lets you divide your payment over six, 12 or 24 months. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. Rates range from 0 to 36 percent APR. The use of Affirm is subject to your eligibility. You can see if you qualify during the Blue Nile secure checkout process. 

Splitit lets you split your credit card payment into three or six installments. There is 0 percent interest, no late fees and no credit checks. Your standard credit card terms and conditions always apply. 

When you use Splitit, the total amount of your purchase will be held in reserve on your credit card to ensure payment. You will pay the first installment at the time of purchase.

You may see a pending transaction on your credit card, but you will not be charged for future installments until they are due. You must maintain sufficient available credit on your card to complete your payment plan. 

Blue Nile processes refunds and returns for purchases made using Blue Nile financing options, subject to our return policy.

We only accept Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express®, and Discover®. We only accept debit cards with the Visa® or Mastercard® logo.

Can I split the payment between multiple methods? 

You can split payments between multiple payment methods when you select PayPal® at checkout. With PayPal®, you can pay using multiple funding sources, including your PayPal® balance, bank accounts and credit cards. 

Blue Nile charges your credit card as soon as we process your order, and you will usually see a pending authorization immediately. Actual charges typically post in 24 hours to a few days, typically when we ship your order. 

Blue Nile accepts several international payment methods, including Visa®, Mastercard® and American Express® cards linked to a non-U.S. billing address. We offer free, fast and secure U.S. shipping and international shipping. 

We no longer sell Blue Nile gift certificates, but we will honor already issued gift certificates. For security purposes, when you redeem a gift card online, we require that you use a credit card to verify your identity.  

Your payment may have been denied due to a fraud hold placed by your credit card or banking institution on large purchases. Your bank may also have a daily limit on debit card transactions.
