To request a resize ring service, contact us using the option that works best for you:

• Online chat: Start a chat on bluenile.com, enter your order number and request a resize. You’ll be guided to your specific order details to begin the process.

• My account: Log in to your account and visit the “My Orders” section to request a resize or return. If you don’t have an account, you can create one using the email from your order.

• Call or email: Contact our customer service team for assistance. We’re available 7 days a week from 7 am to 12 am EST. 

Here’s what to expect once you begin the ring resizing process:

• Returning your ring: After you submit your request, you’ll receive instructions for returning your ring. If you are located in the U.S., you can download a prepaid, fully insured return shipping label immediately. For international orders, return instructions and shipping documents are typically provided within 1–2 business days.

• Resizing and inspection: Once your ring is received, it is inspected to confirm it can be resized. Our jewelers then adjust the ring to the requested size using precise measurements to ensure an accurate fit while maintaining the original design. After resizing is complete, the ring is carefully inspected to meet Blue Nile quality standards.

• Finishing and return shipping: Once approved, your ring is securely packaged and shipped back to you. Processing and shipping times may vary depending on the complexity of the resize and your location.

• What you may notice after resizing: Resizing may involve adding or removing a small amount of metal. As such, the band may appear slightly thicker or thinner after resizing is complete, though changes are typically minimal.

While many rings can be resized, some styles and purchase types are not eligible due to design, materials or prior modifications. If a ring cannot be resized, this will be noted on the product detail page, typically near the ring size selection.

• Milgrain or ornate wedding rings, where resizing may disrupt detailed patterns

• Silver rings, which may be limited due to durability and design considerations

• Rings made with alternative materials like tungsten, titanium or ceramic because these materials cannot be easily reshaped

If your ring cannot be resized, you may be eligible to request an exchange within 30 days of purchase.
