At Blue Nile, we provide complimentary resizing for most engagement rings and wedding bands within the manufacturer's recommended sizing range during the first year. If you need a different ring to accommodate a more significant size change, we offer a 30-day exchange policy for your convenience. After the first sizing or outside of one year, sizing fees may apply.

Some of our ring styles cannot be resized due to their design. In these cases, a note or an icon will appear on the product detail page under the ring size selection. Diamond and gemstone eternity rings with gems all around the band circumference, milgrain or ornate wedding bands, silver rings, or rings with alternative metals such as tungsten are examples of rings that cannot be resized.
Please note that the ring resizing process can result in small amounts of metal being added or removed from your ring to adjust the size as requested. As a result, your ring may be slightly thicker or thinner when the sizing is completed. Typically, any differences are minor. Rest assured that our expert jewelers thoroughly inspect every ring to ensure it has been resized properly and adheres to our strict quality standards.

To initiate a return or a resize, please do one of the following:
Chat with us: Open a Chat on bluenile.com, enter your order number and ask to start a return. You will be directed to your order to initiate a return or resize.
Use my account: log into your online account and go to the “My Orders” section to set up your return (resize or repair). https://www.bluenile.com/login
Create an account from your order: if you do not yet have an online account, you can create one using the same email address used for your purchase. Upon logging into your online account visit the “My Orders” section to set up your return (resize or repair).

If you are located within the US, you will immediately be able to download your fully insured return label and instructions on how to return your item back to us. Please note all original packaging and documentation need to be returned to us. A copy of your fully insured return shipping label and instructions will also be emailed to you.
If you are outside of the US, your return airway bill (the international shipping document) and return shipping instructions will be emailed to you within 1-2 business days.
