The GIA diamond color grades range from D (colorless) to Z (yellow or brown). At Blue Nile, we only carry grades D through K.
F color diamonds are considered colorless and are the third-best grade of colorless diamonds, making them a popular choice. They're also more economical than D and E color-grade diamonds.
A gemologist can tell the difference between these three color grades, but you won't be able to tell the difference with the naked eye.
In general, F color diamonds are less expensive than D and E color diamonds, although diamond price depends on other factors as well, like the cut and clarity.
Diamonds larger than one-carat weight will show more color than smaller stones. There are also certain shapes, like round diamonds, that make it easier to see color. Many of the fancy cut diamonds will pool color at the polesāespecially elongated cuts like marquise, pear, and oval.
