Sean Kell – Chief Executive Officer
Sean is a seasoned leader charged with driving the Blue Nile strategic vision and elevating the company’s modern approach to purchasing handcrafted diamond rings and exquisite jewellery online. Before joining Blue Nile in 2019, Sean served as CEO of A Place for Mom, where he was responsible for overall brand management and business expansion. Sean has a proven track record of building successful businesses in ecommerce, digital innovation and product management across leading online retail organizations including Expedia, Hotels.com and Starbucks. Sean has also held various roles at McKinsey and IBM. Sean holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Sean is an avid skier and golfer, and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Ben Abitbol - SVP, Supply Chain
Ben is an accomplished, customer-centric supply chain professional with over 25 years of experience in the automotive, high tech and fashion industries and a track record of building operational excellence. As SVP, Supply Chain, Ben is responsible for the Blue Nile global supply chain operations and geared to providing a stellar customer experience while scaling the global footprint for growth. Before joining Blue Nile, Ben lead the supply chains of Timex Group where he drove end-to-end integration, lean manufacturing, agility through digitalization, product customisation and fast adaptation to continuously evolving fashion trends. Prior to Timex Group, Ben held several supply chain leadership roles at Hewlett Packard in France, California and Texas. Ben holds an executive MBA from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M and a master’s degree in finance from the EDHEC business school in Lille, France. Ben enjoys photography, reading, listening to music and traveling with his wife and two children. His birthstone is a diamond.
Dominique Bourgault – Chief Financial Officer
Dom brings two decades of finance leadership in high-growth, complex and global e-commerce businesses to his role at Blue Nile. Before joining the company in March 2020, Dom served as CFO of the portfolio and retail business units at Expedia Group, which included Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotwire, Wotif and several other full-service travel websites, together forming the largest division of the company. Dom was responsible for the overall financial direction of the division and for designing modern and agile performance-analysis and decision-making processes in a highly dynamic and competitive environment. Dom joined Expedia Group in 2002 via the acquisition of the startup Newtrade Technologies where he was leading the finance function, and then moved through various financial leadership roles of increasing scope across the company’s divisions and functions, with roles in Canada, the US, and London, UK. Prior to Newtrade, Dom worked at Ernst & Young and the Desjardins Group in Montreal, Canada. Dom holds a BBA from HEC Montreal and is a Canadian CPA. Dom loves the Pacific Northwest and enjoys spending time cycling, skiing, hiking and playing tennis with his wife and three children.
Camille Cleveland – General Counsel
Camille Cleveland is responsible for the legal and trade compliance teams at Blue Nile. Camille has over three decades of general counsel experience with a diverse background of industries including retail, tech, e-commerce and consumer-branded goods. Camille has participated in major acquisitions and dispositions during her career. Her extensive experience and collaborative approach make her a critical executive team member who helps drive strategy, leverage business opportunities and cultivate workplace diversity across the organisation. Camille graduated from Wayne State Law School and Albion College in Michigan. Her passions include travel, rescue dogs, history and, of course, diamonds.
Ron Forrester – Chief Technology Officer
Ron Forrester brings over 25 years of software development experience and over a decade of technology and engineering leadership to Blue Nile. Previously, Ron led teams at Nike that were responsible for a variety of key initiatives, including the brand's activity apps—such as Nike Training Club—and a complete transformation of Nike's retail and wholesale e-commerce web and mobile experiences. He supported the teams responsible for envisioning and developing the award-winning SNKRS App, which provided extremely high scale, fair access to limited inventory products like high-heat sneakers. Before Nike, Ron was a senior software engineer at several successful security-based start-ups in the Pacific Northwest. He has extensive experience building cloud-native architectures that support both premium retail experiences and the consumers that use them. Ron is passionate about leadership and working to unlock the incredible potential of diverse teams that are aligned to common goals. Ron enjoys mountain biking, music, building and restoring retro computers from the 70's and 80's along with camping and traveling with his family.
Michael Hopkins – SVP, Sales and Service
Michael is an experienced leader responsible for the global sales and service teams at Blue Nile. Before joining Blue Nile in 2019, Michael led inside and outside sales teams in both the B2B and B2C space in a wide variety of industries. He is well-versed in building great teams, growing sales, and delivering exceptional customer service. Prior to his time as a sales leader, he served as a consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Detroit office specializing in B2B sales and marketing. He graduated in 2005 from the University of Michigan with a BA in economics and again in 2012 with an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Michael was born and raised in metro Detroit and currently resides in Seattle. His passions include travel, with trips to more than 100 countries.
Jason Moss - Chief Operating Officer
Jason brings a decade of executive leadership in a variety of high-tech businesses to his role at Blue Nile, including late stage start-up, global ecommerce and cloud computing. As COO, Jason sets the vision and strategy for marketing, ecommerce and technology. Before joining the company, Jason served as a BizTech leader at Amazon Web Services. Prior to Amazon, he was the GM of Avvo, a legal services startup that had a successful exit to KKR. Jason also spent over six years at Expedia Group serving in a variety of roles, including GM of CarRentals.com. Prior to Expedia, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Jason holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA in Economics from Carleton College. He enjoys sailing, skiing, SCUBA diving, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Derek Mullens – Chief Human Resources
Derek’s primary responsibility is ensuring that Blue Nile has the very best people, and that every employee is set up for success. He believes, “We have a passionate and committed group that wants to leave their mark and own a part of the company’s success. We give them the tools to do just that.” Derek spends his free time skiing on both water and snow and working on his troubled relationship with golf.
Anita Natarajan – SVP, International
Anita runs the International Business at Blue Nile and is focused on driving strategy, marketing and operations to grow the Blue Nile brand and delight customers in 40+ countries. Before joining Blue Nile in May 2020, Anita ran the global airports business at Uber, growing it as a profit engine for the rides business. Prior to Uber, Anita was VP of Sales Operations at A Place for Mom, a senior living marketplace, where in addition to operations she focused her time on partnerships with healthcare providers to improve continuity of care for seniors. Before that, Anita was a project leader at Boston Consulting Group working in travel, healthcare, retail consumer strategy and non-profits. She started her career as an engineer at IBM automating chip design for servers and games processors. Anita holds an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. In her spare time, Anita enjoys traveling, cooking, dabbling in occasional dancing and hiking with her husband and adorable cockapoo Pumpkin.
Dave Olsen – SVP, Strategy, Analytics and Retail
Dave is responsible for the corporate strategy team at Blue Nile, along with its analytics function and retail store network. In this role, he is focused on creating the absolute best omnichannel retail experience that allows Blue Nile customers to shop on their own terms. Before joining Blue Nile in 2019, Dave was a Partner with Boston Consulting Group in their consumer practice which focused on helping retailers and consumer packaged goods companies with their strategy development and commercial execution. Dave holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. In his free time, Dave enjoys golfing, skiing, reading and relaxing with his family.
Charlie Severn – VP, Brand Marketing
Charlie is responsible for setting the brand vision at Blue Nile that celebrates everyday moments and ensures customers find joy in discovering, giving and receiving handcrafted fine diamond jewellery for all occasions, big and small. Prior to Blue Nile, Charlie served as VP of Brand at A Place for Mom where he was responsible for overall brand management and development of the off-line media program. Throughout his career he has championed distinctive customer experiences across traditional consumer and ecommerce brands through leadership positions with Starbucks and Expedia. Charlie is a graduate of the University of Washington where he received a degree in business.
Katie Zimmerman - Chief Merchandising Officer
Katie provides a thoughtful yet analytic approach to merchandising and sourcing to create a collection that ensures Blue Nile is an industry leader. Previously, Katie worked as Vice President of Merchandising at Zale's, a division of Signet Jewellers, where she began as an Assistant Buyer in 2002. In addition to growing revenue and expanding margins in multiple categories across fine jewellery and watches, she has successfully developed and launched over a dozen proprietary collections. Katie’s deep understanding of the customer and evolving trends across the category helped her build strategic partnerships with the industry’s leading suppliers and manufacturers, as well as with iconic designers and brands to bring relevant, current collections to customers. Katie is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, where she studied textiles and apparel/retail merchandising. Katie loves spending time with her family and catering to her dog Melee in her spare time.
