I Colour Diamonds

Enjoy near-colourless beauty by shopping for I colour grade diamonds. These diamonds offer a great quality for the price, and the colour is not discernible to the eye unless viewed in direct comparison with diamonds of a higher colour grade. An I colour grade diamond is a versatile choice, because yellow and rose metals will make them look icier. They also sparkle beautifully in white metals such as platinum and white gold.

FAQs about I Colour Diamonds

I colour diamonds are rated by the GIA as having a slight yellow hue that puts them in the near colourless category. In laboratory settings, the slightly yellow hue of I diamonds is more apparent. Many I coloured diamonds appear colourless to the naked eye.

I coloured diamonds are near colourless. Try pairing one with a white gold or platinum setting to enjoy an icier look.

Yes. The larger the diamond, the more visible any faint colour will be, especially in certain cuts. If you are shopping for diamonds of one-carat weight or larger, look for H colour grade diamonds or higher.

Blue Nile offers eight colour grades within three categories: colourless, near colourless, and faint colour. I colour grade diamonds are the third-highest grade within the near colourless category.

If you’re looking to get more diamond for a lower cost, I diamonds are an excellent choice. As a near colourless diamond, I diamonds are priced lower than colourless diamonds. I diamonds will appear slightly whiter in a yellow or rose gold setting. The right I colour diamond can appear colourless if it is set with other I colour diamonds or on its own.

The slight yellow tone of I coloured diamonds is least visible in certain diamond shapes such as round cut. An I colour round cut diamond will look whiter than a pear cut of the same colour grade.

An I colour diamond saturation is very faint so virtually all setting types fit this popular stone. If you are looking to further downplay the colour of an I diamond, choose a yellow or rose gold setting.

I colour-grade diamonds pair well with many stones and settings. If you are adding other diamonds to the band, such as with a three stone engagement ring, it is best to choose additional I colour diamonds for your setting.

Classic, beautiful and sparkly!!!

I purchased this eternity ring to wear with my Blue Nile engagement ring, which is a 1.40 ct. XXX VS2 I colour round diamond set in the Petite Nouveau six-claw platinum setting. They look wonderful together. The eternity ring fits perfectly flush, and since the diamonds go all the way around, I don't need to worry about it spinning or not lining up. I have been going to Blue Nile for all my jewellery needs for many years, and their products and customer service are always outstanding. Ask for Tyler, and he will take great care of you!

Good price, lots of sparkle.

For I colour, I clarity I was surprised of its quality, it still sparks a lot. My main stone is D, vvs2, so it does look a bit hazy when I wear them together but it’s only when you looks really close and probably something only you will recognise.. Really wished the stones were a bit of better clarity but for the price & cwt this was a great deal. Also, I was under the impression the all rings from BN come with GIA certification but it didn’t.

Simple and elegant choice.

When a pulled this on my girlfriend, she seemed to be mesmerized. I had to put my hand on her shoulder to bring her back to consciousness. My new fiancée loves the new ring, which looks great on her!

More brilliant in person

I’ve heard of Blue Nile from many different forums and blogs, and decided to dig in to find the perfect engagement ring. The process was quite straight forward with all of the tips and selections, but the biggest worry for me was having an expensive shipment via mail. When it arrived though, it was packaged in a simple brown box, with the elegant blue box, ring and certificate inside. All in all, a very reassured experience and seeing the final product in person couldn’t be any more brilliant/magical (I kid you not, it’s one fine piece of custom jewellery and I was impressed from an online purchase).
