Every so often the team here at Blue Nile has to work a little bit harder to make someone’s proposal dream come true. When it happens right here in our own city, it’s even more special.
Customer Ely Feese experienced what it means to be taken care of by Blue Nile. We’re so happy to have been a part of his engagement. Read on for all the details in his own words…
I recently ordered an engagement ring at the last minute, in hopes of being able to propose while on a trip to Seattle. When the Diamond & Jewelry Consultant discovered I would be in Seattle, she arranged for me to pick the ring up at a local FedEx office, which was the only way to make it possible to start with.
The day before my flight, I was informed that the ring would not be available in time to get it to FedEx. After considering a few options, Blue Nile arranged for the ring to be brought to me by Bruce, the head of the security team. Once I landed in Seattle, someone at Blue Nile was immediately in contact with me to arrange the timing. Although I was “acting weird and impatient,” according to Heidi, my then-girlfriend, she never suspected a thing.
I convinced her we needed a tourist break and to grab a drink in a pub. Once I received the phone call from Bruce, I pretended I had to make a work call and stepped outside. I was a bit of a wreck, but Bruce met me at the corner near the pub to deliver the ring. Complete lifesaver!
We walked down to the water and found a nice pier where I surprised her, and she said, “Yes!”
The level of service and amount of effort put forth by the whole Blue Nile team really blew me away. I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who helped make this happen, and it’s something that we’ll remember our whole lives.
