Our 30-day money back guarantee gives you time to make sure your purchase is perfect. If you need to return it for any reason, we'll happily provide you with an exchange or full refund.

You may return within 30 days of purchase when in its original condition except in the case of a non-refundable special order. Engraving fees, when applicable, are non-refundable. Please note the customer pays the return postage.

Orders Shipped to China

For orders shipping to China, the 30 day period begins on the date you receive your order. The 20% reservation fee is non-refundable.

Our Return Process

Once your returned item is received and accepted, your refund or new item will be processed shortly. Our Quality Assurance department will review the returned item. Any items that show signs of wear or have been altered, resized (by a jeweler other than Blue Nile), or damaged cannot be accepted for return. Engraved jewelry items, other than rings, may not be returned. All engraved rings may be returned for credit, but the engraving fee will not be refunded. The removal of engraving from any exchanged or resized ring is free with no additional engraving fee. Returns without a Blue Nile return code, and improperly or uninsured packages will be refused upon receipt.

How To Prepare A Return

To return a diamond or jewelry item to Blue Nile, follow our three step process:

  1. Contact Customer Service for Key Information
    • Your Return Authorization Code needs to be written on the return sticker found at the bottom of your original invoice. Place the sticker on the outside of the box you are returning.
    • For returns from Switzerland or Norway, a return Commercial Invoice will be provided to you by one of our Diamond and Jewellery Consultants to expedite processing of your shipment with an international carrier.
    • Complete Your Air Waybill and we will send you instructions on how to complete it to ensure your shipment is not delayed.
  2. Package Your Return. Include all original packaging and paperwork. If your item was delivered with a diamond certificate, please return the certificate as well. Certificate replacement is $250.
  3. Insure Your Package. You are responsible for the shipment until it is delivered to Blue Nile.
