Pre Trip: It was really cute, since everything was a surprise and I had no idea where I was going or what I was doing, my boyfriend (at the time) had to pack for me. He made me try on tons of outfits and meticulously looked them all over. Then he told me which outfits to pack and even what shoes etc to wear!
Day 1: My boyfriend took me to the airport terminal hall where our flight was leaving out of and made me try to guess where I would be going. It was really hard because there were 3 or 4 flights all leaving at the same time. I narrowed it down to San Francisco Los Angeles and Las Vegas! Finally, he said well are you feeling lucky? And immediately hopped on the flight to VEGAS!!! I was really excited and wanted to see what he had planned.
Day 2 (Proposal): I was really excited because he told me we were going take a helicopter ride to tour the Grand Canyon!!! He did not give me details but he wanted me to know where we were going so no one ruined the surprise.
It was so cool, we flew over the Hover Dam and flew all over the Grand Canyon, finally we landed inside the Canyon where we were able to explore, and take a boat ride in the Colorado River.
After floating on the river, we took the helicopter to the top of the Grand Canyon in order to go onto the skywalk. I had never heard of the Skywalk, but it was awesome.
We couldnt take pictures of our own, but there was a photographer who took pictures of everyone in the group for souvenirs. We were taking pictures all over the Skywalk and at one point the photographer said, lets take a fun one! He told us to get down on our knees and point down through the glass with funny faces.
After the picture I got up, but Nick didn't
He recited the poem he originally wrote to ask me out but changed the ending to fit the proposal. By the end of it, there was a huge crowd gathered and everyone cheered.
Unfortunately, we had to get back on the helicopter and leave but I was so happy I didnt think the day could get any better.
Much to my surprise IT DID!
When we arrived back to the hotel in Las Vegas, there were rose petals laid throughout the room, and in a heart shaped pattern on our bed. Inside the heart there were chocolate covered strawberries (the biggest I have ever seen!) and a note. He then took me to a French restaurant called Mon Ami Gabi directly across the street from the Bellagio. He made reservations so that we could have the perfect view to enjoy dinner while watching the Bellagio fountain show all night long.
