I started out her weekend innocently enough on Saturday evening with wine and roses. I let her sleep in the next morning, then I got her some of her favorite Starbucks for our drive up Sunday. We got there kind of late in the afternoon so that it would be the warmest part of the day. (I didn't want her to be too cold.) This is also what I wanted because of where the sun was gonna be in relation to the bridge. The Park Ranger told me the river below the bridge was closed due to the heavy run off and I was discouraged for a few seconds as we entered the park. Then I figured we'd keep on and see exactly what was up at my intended location, below the waterfall.

As we dropped into the canyon on the still wet trail I held her hand on our way down. We had the park all to ourselves on this beautiful chilly Arizona day. As the trail curved towards the waterfall coming off of the Tonto Natural Bridge, I could hear the river running heavily. The roar was spectacular. Mother Nature at her finest. We got down to the bottom most scenic observation point, just below the waterfall, right where I wanted to be as the sun reached perfectly into the waterfall and created beautiful rainbows. I could not have planned it better. Someone up there was in my court!

This was her first time there and with the previous week's heavy rains the waterfall was spectacular. We spent a few minutes taking in the scenery while holding hands, hugging and kissing. Then we talked about the history of the Natural Bridge while I fumbled around with the ring box in my backpack. It was absolutely perfect as she turned around from the waterfall to kiss me and I already had her ring out, with the box open and asked her if she'd marry me. She wrapped her arms around me and cried, then she said yes as I placed this amazing Blue Nile signature cut diamond on her finger. It fit perfectly.

The Tonto Natural Bridge, the waterfall, the perfect ring, the sun, the rainbows, the perfect girl. Life is great and she is perfect! Thought I'd share my happiness and our story. Thanks.
