Very beautiful ring, the plat has a nice weight to it. My fiance didn't want a large diamond and I was worried the round .46-Carat diamond would not look right (too small) in the setting w/ the sapphires. As out of 4 pages of feedback only 4 talked about the size of the diamond. One said .6 looked good and the others said a 1.0+. However, it looks nice and balanced w/ the .46 and does not stick out too far. Will be ordering our wedding bands from Blue Nile when we get to that point.

Buying a ring is tough, Blue Nile helped
I know very little about diamonds and expensive jewelry. Given the markup and sales tactics I encountered at local stores, I became skeptical. How could I become a smart buyer without spending too much time learning the trade? The Blue Nile representative (Steve) helped me understand the tradeoffs in clarity, cut, and all of the other measures of diamonds. Further, the diamond had clouds that made it not sparkle well -- those markings on the formal appraisal form were not visible when it was viewed online (they were too faint).

The ring came out better than I could have imagined. The colors, the setting, and the overall appearance are all above what I though I had purchased. It felt as if I was there telling them what I wanted built. It is beautiful!
The best part was the service. It shipped during the height of the Christmas rush, and came upon some complications. Brian (I think)in customer servuce was exceptional in handling Fed Ex, location my ring, and getting to me. All my plans went with out a hitch due to Blue Nile.

This setting is absolutely beautiful! My suggestion to others is to consider a diamond >=.90 carats. A smaller stone might not have the same impact you would prefer.

Beautiful ring, great service, fair price
