The ring was a masterpiece in a nice lacquer wooden box with a nice paperwork portfolio. But the story is I got this masterpiece at what I felt after much research, a great price, with no hassle. The customer chat support by Stephanie C. was 1st rate. The Trellis Solitaire setting was something I didn't readily find in my L.A. diamond district. In about the time it took me to drive from Thousand Oaks, CA and find parking in the diamond district, I built and purchased the perfect ring on Blue Nile. Blue Nile is the best of the online vendors too, and their slide limits of stone attributes and dynamic filtering were the best tools to quickly optimize my selection for the money. The value I got was better to far better than the diamond district; the variance when shopping in the diamond district can be nerve racking. My fiancee (who has many female sisters and friends) was stunned and I looked like a real guru thanks to Blue Nile. I will use Blue Nile again!

I talked to a couple of local shops about things I was concerned about in an engagement ring. They had a take it or leave it attitude, so I decide to look elsewhere. I spent a few days reading the reviews on the blue nile web site and finally decided on a setting and stone. I called in and spoke to a representative who was very helpful and ended up saving me a considerable amount of money by giving me advice on the color and clarity I had chosen. I am very satisfied with my shopping experience and she loves the ring. Oh, and she was surprised beyond belief because Mr. Pragmatic would never smuggle a ring on the trip to London to propose to her.

The diamond was exactly as described in the catalog online. It came with GIA certification which we verified through a 3rd party appraiser. It was placed very nicely in the setting that was ordered.

The ring is beautiful! Simple, elegant and modern. My husband bought this for me for our 20th anniversary and I love it. We looked at Tiffany's, Shreve's and Cartier. This ring is similar to Tiffany's Lucida ring but I was able to choose the exact cut, color and carat, etc. I am thrilled with the end result. I made many calls to customer service for help in deciding and they were great.

The quality of the diamond and setting were amazing, and the entire experience was incredibly easy and confidence-inspiring. I spent weeks looking for the right ring at brick and mortar jewelry stores, but none had just what we wanted. Tiffany's was close, but their price was literally twice as high, and I did not have the option of choosing exactly which diamond I wanted. The workmanship and customer service were top-notch.

The ring and diamond turned out WAY better than I expected. I shopped local and had a good idea of what a comparable diamond looked like. This diamond was much nicer and less expensive too! The on-line advice Blue Nile gave was invaluable. She directed me to a less expensive diamond and helped me chose the qualities which gave me the most bang for the buck. She was exceptional.

It's usually hard for us to buy online because we can't really see and feel the quality of what we are buying. We were scared how the outcome will look but we were wrong. The ring was exceptional! The main deciding factors for me in purchasing a ring for my bride from Blue Nile was the value and reputation. I had a hard time even finding platinum in my local jewellery stores, and diamonds were very overpriced. Blue Nile had a good reputation (Forbes, etc.) good education on the site, and exceptional value.

The ring is stunning. The platinum band looks great with the 1 carat princess cut diamond.
