We will ship orders under $25,000 to APO and FPO addresses via USPS priority mail. The arrival times listed are for U.S. addresses and do not generally to APO and FPO addresses.
For your convenience, we offer the following payment methods:
- Credit cards: Use your Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express, Discover or JCB card.
- Bank wire: Arrange payment through your bank and receive a 1.5% discount. Bank wire payments are accepted on orders of $750 or more.
- Other payment methods: Blue Nile Credit Card, PayPal or MasterPass™.
Policy on Debit Cards
A debit card is treated differently than a credit card by your bank. A debit card is much like a credit card in that it may display a credit card company logo, like Visa or MasterCard, but a charge to your debit card uses funds directly from your bank account. The biggest difference is that your bank may institute a daily charge limit on your debit card. If the price of your order exceeds a daily limit set on your debit card we will notify you, as this will prohibit us from processing your order.

Gift Certificate Policies
Our Blue Nile gift certificates may only be purchased and redeemed in US dollars. Gift certificates are sent immediately to the recipient through email. Once the recipient receives the gift certificate, it can be used immediately on bluenile.com.
For security purposes, when you redeem your gift certificate online, we require that you use a credit card. This helps us ensure your identity, and protects against fraudulent use of your gift certificate. Your credit card will not be charged unless your order total exceeds the amount of your gift certificate. If you do not wish to use a credit card to redeem your gift certificate, call customer service at
Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash, cannot be returned for a cash refund, and are not transferable. Any unused portion will remain available for future purchases under the same Gift Certificate Number. Blue Nile is not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificates. At any time, you can view your gift certificate balance.
Blue Nile gift certificates are redeemable only at www.bluenile.com. Certificate cash value is, 1/10 of one cent. Gift certificates and unused portions expire on the date listed on your printed gift certificate, or the date listed in your gift certificate e-mail (does not apply to California or where prohibited by law).
Shipments Are Insured
We fully insure each order all the way to you. That means that when your order is in transit to you, shipment is always risk-free. For added security, it is our policy that a signature is required for all Blue Nile orders over $1,000, regardless of any signature waivers you may have with FedEx.
Alternate Shipping Addresses
If you prefer, we can ship your order to an address other than your billing address. As a security precaution, we require that your alternate shipping address be on file with your credit card company. This step helps protect you from fraudulent charges to your credit card.
If you cannot be available to receive your order on a weekday, we may be able to arrange for your order to be delivered on Saturday. FedEx Saturday Service, available in the vast majority of US cities, is subject to availability. If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return any item without custom engraving in its original condition within 30 days of the date of shipment for a refund or an exchange.
