Blue Nile is seeking an accomplished accounting professional to fill the position of Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will have responsibility for accounts receivable, treasury and various ad hoc projects and analysis. Exceptional technical skills, curiosity and passion for our business, and strong communications skills are the keys to success in this role. This is a full time position reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce accurate and timely ad-hoc reporting from multiple data sources to perform analysis
  • Formulate supporting schedules and analysis that explain financial results and variances
  • Communicate observations and results of analysis
  • Monitor and forecast cash movements and balances
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of cash and accounts receivable accounts
  • Assist with the external quarterly review and annual audit processes
  • Identify and maintain internal controls in all areas of responsibility
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements or automation and drive the implementation of solutions
  • Other projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including 1 year public accounting experience
  • Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (verbal and written) with all levels of management and cross functional teams
  • Able to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Hard working, quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism
  • Capable of taking direction from multiple sources and prioritizing accordingly
  • Must work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others
