Blue Nile seeks a part time entry level Quality Assurance Test Engineer to join our Development Team. The successful candidate will possess a self-starter, self-motivated mindset; have strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with guided, but minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop functional test plans with software developers and program managers
  • Execute test plans/cases (primarily manual) and provide quality analysis for multiple systems
  • Ensure that product release bugs and changes are documented, tracked, managed, and resolved
  • Facilitate test deliverables and review process
  • Identify defects and product enhancements
  • Collect, analyze and report quality metrics to management
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years work experience in Quality Assurance/Testing
  • Experience working with bug/request tracking systems
  • Experience with software development life cycles and release management
  • Understanding of web technologies (server and browser, IE & Navigator, ASP, Scripting)
  • Solid experience in functional and UI testing
  • Background in analyzing design requirements and specifications, developing and implementing test plans and scripts, playing back of scripts and testing
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and document technical concepts, procedures, and processes
  • Ability to create easy to use test plans and cases that allows testers to understand and execute test plans
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations throughout the organization
  • Must possess a self-starter, self-motivated mindset, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently with guided, but minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, XML, CSS, JSP, ASP desired but not required
