Check the status of your returned item on our Return Status page.

Our 30-day money back guarantee gives you time to make sure your purchase is perfect. If you need to return it for any reason, we'll happily provide you with an exchange or full refund.

You may return within 30 days of purchase when in its original condition except in the case of a non-refundable special order. Engraving fees, when applicable, are non-refundable. Please note the customer pays the return postage.

Our Return Process

Once we receive your returned item and it is accepted, your refund or new item will be processed in just a few days. Upon receiving your return, the item will be reviewed by our Quality Assurance department. Please note that items showing signs of wear or those that have been altered, resized (by a jeweller other than Blue Nile), or damaged in any way cannot be accepted for return. Engraved jewellery items (not including wedding rings) may not be returned. Engraved wedding rings may be returned, however, the engraving fee is non-refundable. Returns with no Blue Nile return code, and packages that are improperly packaged or uninsured will be refused receipt.

How To Prepare A Return

To return a diamond or jewellery item to Blue Nile, please contact our Customer Service department at 888-565-7610 or by email at serviceca@bluenile.ca. They will provide you with detailed instructions on how to process a return from Canada. To ensure proper handling of all duties and taxes, please follow the return instructions provided. Please note, the shipping and handling fee is non-refundable.


Note: Blue Nile will not be responsible for loss or damage of return shipments. We cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer as a result of late delivery or cancellation of your order.
