Blue Nile Premier Akoya Cultured Pearls are the highest quality pearls in our Akoya collection. The thick nacre coating results in a very high lustre and beautiful white body – often highlighted with rosé or silver overtones. The 18k white gold clasp is accented with three pavé-set diamonds.

The Akoya is the classic pearl for strands of all lengths. It has a cream body colour and is often highlighted with rosé overtones. A secure 18k white gold clasp brings out the white lustre of the pearls.

Freshwater pearls are generally less uniformly round and most are smaller in size than Akoya pearls, but they look much like the Akoya, and are available at about 1/5 the cost. A secure 14k white gold clasp brings out the white lustre of the pearls.

Tahitian pearls are very large compared to other pearls, and they are treasured for their rare, natural black body colour. They also exhibit extraordinary overtones ranging from green to pink, making them an exotic and eye-catching choice of jewellery.
